AT THE FESTIVAL

What forms of ID will I need to get into the festival?

You will need one of the below valid identification to allow you entry into the festival.

  • Current valid Australian Driver’s License (with photo)
  • Current Passport
  • Government Issued Proof of Age Card
  • International Driver’s License (with photo)

What items are not allowed in the festival area?

Can I remove my wristband at any time during the festival?

No, do not remove your wristband until the festival has finished. Wristbands will not be replaced.

Can I bring alcohol to Mountain Sounds Festival?

No, under no circumstances will any patron be allowed to bring external alcohol into the festival.

Will there be pass-outs?

There will be no pass-outs for day-ticket holders and campers.

Will there be lockers on site?

Yes, there will be lockers at the festival site for patrons to store their items.

BUSES

Will there be buses available?

Yes, shuttle buses will run between Gosford station and the festival site for a small fee.

When can I purchase a bus ticket?

You can pre-purchase a discounted bus ticket online or alternatively, they will be available to purchase on the day.

CAMPING

Is the camping ticket per campsite or per person?

It’s per person, i.e. everyone who is camping needs an individual camping ticket.

Why do you sell camping tickets per person and not per site?

The campgrounds are not divided into individual sites. When you and your group arrive, you will be allocated enough space for your tent(s). You do not receive a site for each person and again, we stress that space is limited.

Do we get to pick our own camping spot?

Yes but please remember that space is tight in the campground.

When can I arrive to set up my campsite?

You can arrive anytime after 3pm on Friday 17th February. However, please avoid arriving between midnight – 7am as we will not have staff available to admit you into the campgrounds and campers car park during those hours.

Can I save space in my camping area for friends who are arriving later?

No, you must arrive as a group to camp together. This is only to make the process quick, as well as using space efficiently.

My friends are coming in another car, can we camp together.

Yes but you MUST arrive at the same time as your friends if you wish to camp together so you will have to wait for them prior to entering the campgrounds.

Are there powered sites?

No.

How much space do we get for our campsite?

It’s big enough for your tent and some outdoor space but you will be close to your neighbours. Please do not go over the top with your camping set up as space is at a premium. Overly elaborate campsites are discouraged, so you will be asked to downsize if you arrive with enough gear to re-create your lounge room.

Can I bring a camper trailer or campervan?

Yes. If you are bringing a vehicle or caravan to sleep in, you MUST pre-purchase an RV Parking pass to do so. You will not be allowed to park and sleep in the campers car park, there will be a designated area for RV’s and campervans.

Can I bring my tent into the RV area?

There are no tents allowed in the RV area. The RV area is only for vehicles designed to be slept in such as campervans, or towed devices such as caravans or camper trailers. No sedans or motorbikes are allowed in this area also. ß

Do I need a vehicle pass to park my car at Mount Penang Parklands?

Yes, you will need to pre-purchase a vehicle pass if you intend to park your car at Mount Penang Parklands. By purchasing a parking ticket, you are eligible to park your car in our dedicated punter carpark for the entire duration of the festival. These tickets are available for $20.

Alternatively, if you arrive with 4 people in your car (3 if you’re camping), you are eligible for free parking. This is to reduce the festival’s carbon footprint.

Can I park next to my tent?

No. In the interests of a better camping experience and help to manage space better, there will be no cars in the campground which creates a friendly camping culture.

Is it safe to leave valuable items in my tent?

No. Although there will be staff and security walking through the campsite, we cannot guarantee that they will be safe.

Are there going to be showers and toilets available in the camping area?

Yes, there will be plenty available.

Will there be security in the camping area?

Yes.

Can I bring my own generator?

Yes, you can bring your own generator but we have a noise curfew from 10.30pm so your generator must be turned off from then.

Can we have a fire at our campsite?

Patrons are not permitted to have campfires or fires of any kind at Mount Penang Parklands, although gas stoves and gas cookers are permitted. If you light a fire you will be removed from the site and may be subject to police action.

VEHICLE PASSES

Why do I have to purchase a parking ticket as well as a festival ticket?

Vehicle passes are effective in a number of ways. They help alleviate traffic congestion so you can get to the festival quicker and easier whilst utilising the grounds efficiently. Also, this initiative reduces the total carbon footprint by car-pooling and your vehicle pass will be refunded if you arrive in a full car.

What if I arrive without a parking ticket?

You will be required to purchase a parking ticket on entry which will be more expensive than pre-purchasing online.

Can I leave the campsite to purchase supplies at any time?

Yes. However, you and your bags will be thoroughly checked each time you enter the campsite to prevent alcohol and other prohibited items coming in.

DISABLED ACCESS

Will there be an allocated drop off zone?

Yes, we have a dedicated drop off zone for disabled patrons that is situated close to the festival entry. 

What’s the site like for getting around?

It’s predominantly a flat site with a grassy field and gravel roads.

Will there be disabled amenities on site?

Yes, there are disabled amenities in both the festival site and campgrounds.

What is the terrain like at Mount Penang Parklands?

The terrain is flat, meaning that it will be easy to travel for disabled patrons.

LOCAL RESIDENTS/COMMUNITIES

What plans will you have in place during the event if I want to call regarding noise, traffic, litter or patron behaviour?

We will have a hotline that will be advertised via our letterbox drop throughout the surrounding residential area. Initiatives include:

  • An acoustic management plan will be conducted prior to and on the day of the event in order to limit the sound projection.
  • Our traffic management plan (approved by the local RMS) will limit the amount of issues prior to and on the day of the event
  • Event cleaning contractors will be employed to effectively limit and clear all litter prior to, on the day and post event

Will the music go all night?

There is a sound curfew in place so all music will cease by 10.30pm.

Can I get a free ticket because I live close to the venue?

We appreciate and respect surrounding residents so we offer a two-for-one ticket deal, which you will receive via the letterbox drop.

Are event tickets and camping tickets separate?

Yes, you will need to purchase a festival ticket AND a camping ticket.

Is this an all ages event?

No, Mountain Sounds Festival is strictly an 18+ event.

Can I get a refund if I can’t make it to the festival?

There will be strictly no refunding of tickets.
