Can my tickets be scanned on my smartphone when I enter the festival?

Yes, your ticket can be scanned on your smartphone if you were unable to access a printer.

Does my name need to be on a ticket?

Yes. To ensure the validity of the ticket, we require your name to be on the ticket. At the event, security will check to ensure the name on your ID matches that of your ticket. Please note that names only need to be on tickets purchased online. If you purchase a hard copy ticket from a promoter, your name does not need to be on it.

Can I change the name on my ticket?

Can I replace a lost ticket?

If you cannot find your online ticket purchased through Eventbrite, contact them here. If you have purchased a hardcopy ticket through a promoter you must treat this ticket as if it were cash. There are no replacements on hard copy tickets.

Do I need to purchase a camping and a festival ticket?

Yes. You will need to purchase a festival ticket as well as purchasing a camping ticket.

Is there a limit to how many tickets I can buy?

No, there is no limit.

Will there be the option of a payment plan?

Yes, there will be a payment plan option available where you can pay for your ticket in instalments.

Will lockers and charging be available at the festival?

This year at Mountain Sounds Festival we’ve partnered with Uncle Surge and BSafe lockers for all your charging and locking needs.

Lockers will be available at a cost of $10 per day or $25 for the whole weekend.

Charging packs from Uncle Surge will be available at a cost of $10 with a $20 deposit.

If I’m unable to make it, can I get a refund?

No, there will be no refund offered for purchased tickets of any type (festival tickets, camping tickets, drink coupons etc). However, you will be able to pass tickets onto a friend at face value.

There are no refunds on tickets except as required by the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice. Incorrect purchases DO NOT qualify for a refund.

Is parking included in my festival ticket?

No, you will need to pre-purchase a car pass if you intend to park your car at Mount Penang Parklands. By purchasing a parking ticket, you are eligible to park your car in our dedicated punter carpark for the entire duration of the festival. These tickets are available for $25 ($30 on day).

Alternatively, if you arrive with 4 people in your car (3 if you’re camping), you are eligible for free parking. This is to alleviate space on site and to reduce the festival’s carbon footprint.

Is parking included in my camping ticket?

If I purchase a camping ticket, does that mean I can bring my RV too?

RV passes are available for purchase on a per vehicle basis. Each person in the vehicle up MUST have their own camping ticket on top of their RV pass.

If we’re planning to stay in our RV, do we all need to purchase an RV pass?

No, RV passes are per vehicle, but each person sleeping inside the RV MUST have their own camping ticket as well.

Do I need to pre-purchase drink coupons before I come to the festival?

No, pre-purchased drink coupons are optional and are offered at a discounted rate (compared to at the festival) for your convenience. Drink coupons will be available to purchase at the festival and drinks can also be purchased over the bar as per normal via Paypass. Drink coupons will be sold at the below price and can be purchased here.

  • 5 x Drink Coupon ($50 Value): $40 (+bf)

Is the camping ticket per campsite or per person?

Camping tickets are sold per person. Every person camping will need an individual camping ticket.

Why do you sell camping tickets per person and not per site?

The campgrounds are not divided into individual sites. When you and your group arrive, you will be allocated enough space for your tent(s). You do not receive a site for each person and again, we stress that space is limited.

To camp in larger groups please ensure your convoy arrives at the festival together or meet the rest of your friends in our large waiting bay after ticket check and you will be allocated campsites next to each other.

If I don’t pre-purchase tickets, will they be available when I get to the festival?

Mountain Sounds Festival 2017 sold out in record time so tickets will most likely not be available at the festival.

What if I arrive without a parking ticket?

You will be required to purchase a parking ticket on entry which will be more expensive than pre-purchasing online.

Why do I have to purchase a parking ticket as well as a festival ticket?

Vehicle passes are effective in a number of ways. They help alleviate traffic congestion so you can get to the festival quicker and easier whilst utilising the grounds efficiently. Also, this initiative reduces the total carbon footprint by car-pooling and your vehicle pass will be refunded if you arrive in a full car.

Is there an age requirement?

Yes, 18+

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you can present any of your tickets on your phone.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn’t match the person who attends?

No, the name on the ticket must match the person attending, however, a free name transfer facility will be set up so you can transfer tickets if needed.



Can I drive to and from the festival each day?

Yes, there will be a parking area. All patrons that are intending to drive and park will need to purchase a car pass. Passes will be $25 ($30 on day).

Can I get dropped off and picked up from the festival?

Yes, there will be a drop off and pickup area outside the festival.

Will there be shuttle buses available? 

Yes, shuttle buses will run between Gosford station and the festival site for $5 cash upon entry to the bus. Shuttle buses will run at the following times:

  • 3:30pm – 10:00pm – Thur only
  • 11:30am-3pm to the festival – Fri + Sat
  • 10:30pm-1am from the festival – Fri + Sat

Buses will be running roughly every 30 minutes and all times are subject to change.

When can I purchase a bus ticket?

You can pre-purchase a discounted bus ticket online or alternatively, they will be available to purchase on the day.

Can I catch public transport to and from the festival?

Is Mountain Sounds Festival an all ages event?

No. Mountain Sounds festival is a STRICTLY 18+ event.

What form of ID will I need?

You will need one of the below valid identification to allow you entry into the festival:

  • Current valid Australian Driver’s License (with photo)
  • Current Passport
  • Government Issued Proof of Age Card
  • International Driver’s License (with photo)

Will there be wristbands?

Upon entry to the festival site, all patrons will be issued a wristband. This is to remain on for the duration of the festival. There will be no replacements for lost or broken wristbands; they can only be removed with scissors. Wristbands are not to be transferred to friends. Any patron found without a wristband will be immediately removed from the festival site and campgrounds.

Will EFTPOS be accepted on site?

Yes, EFTPOS will be accepted on-site and PayPass will be available at ALL service points.

What items are banned from Mountain Sounds?

People always bring some weird, wonderful and sometimes outright awkward things to Mountain Sounds Festival. Think ahead so you don’t lose that big beautiful artwork you’ve spent months creating.

What happens if I lose my wristband?

Don’t! Anybody found without a wristband will be immediately evicted from the festival site and campgrounds. There will be absolutely no replacements for lost wristbands.

What kind of camera can I bring?

Yes, you can bring anything from an iPhone to a disposable camera. However, any cameras that are deemed professional will not be allowed – any camera with a detachable lens.

Can I bring alcohol to the festival?

No, Mountain Sounds Festival is NOT a BYO event. Under no circumstances will any patron be allowed to bring external alcohol into the festival. Alcohol will be available for purchase from bars in the licensed festival grounds.

I have prescription medicines that need to be store? Is this possible?

Yes. Please see the medical staff at one of the tents immediately upon arrival.

Are there passouts to my car?

There are no pass-outs for day-ticket holders due to licensing restrictions.

Am I able to leave the festival and go back to my campsite?

Yes, the campground is integrated into the festival site for next year’s festival but you will be checked each time you enter the campgrounds.

Will there be police presence at Mountain Sounds Festival?

Yes, there will be a strong police presence at Mountain Sounds Festival in 2018. This will include drug detection sniffer dogs.

Police will also be out and about conducting RBT and MDT tests in the areas surrounding the festival. You know the drill and the consequences. You have been warned.

Can I use cash to pay at the bar and can I get ‘cash-out’?

Yes, you can pay with cash at the bars, but you won’t be able to get ‘cash-out’. There will be a limited number of ATM’s located in the festival grounds and we recommend that you bring enough cash with you to last the duration of the festival.

How long will the food stalls be open for?

Food stalls will be open for the duration of when the festival is open.



Will there be ATM’s onsite?

Yes, there will be. However, ATM’s will be limited so we recommend that you bring enough cash to last the duration of the festival.

Will there be pass-outs?

There will be no pass-outs for day-ticket holders. Campers will have free movement between the festival site and campgrounds. However, NO ALCOHOL purchased externally will be allowed into the campgrounds.

Once admitted to the festival grounds, there are to be NO pass-outs for campers outside of the festival grounds for the duration of the weekend.

Will there be lockers onsite?

No, there will not be lockers on site this year. However, we will have a cloakroom where patrons can store their belongings securely.

Will there be medical facilities onsite?

There will be full first aid medical facilities available at the festival.

If you require medical attention, please see one of our medical tents and First Aid Tents. These will be located in both the main event site and the campgrounds for the entirety of the event (including the night before and night after the festival).

If you have any prescription medication that needs to be specially stored please see the medical team immediately upon arrival.

Will there be wheelchair access?

Yes. But please keep in mind the terrain is mainly natural with some gravel paths. We will have a specific pick up/drop off area with priority access available. For more information about special arrangements, please email and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.

Will there be security?

Yes. There will be a roving security presence in the camping area and festival site for the duration of the festival.

Will there be vegetarian, vegan and GF options?

This year there will be a range of food stalls to cater to all you vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free mountaineers.

Will there be phone charging facilities?

Yes, there will be a range of phone charging options in the campgrounds and festival site.



What time does the campsite open?

Do we get to pick our own camping spot?

Yes but please remember that space is tight in the campground.

When can I arrive to set up my campsite?

You can arrive anytime after 3pm on Thursday 15th February. However, please avoid arriving between midnight – 7am as we will not have staff available to admit you into the campgrounds and campers car park during those hours.

Can I save space in my camping area for friends who are arriving later?

No. To camp together, you must arrive in a group. This is only to make the process quick, as well as using space efficiently.

My friends are coming in another car, can we camp together?

Yes but you MUST arrive at the same time as your friends if you wish to camp together so you will have to wait for them prior to entering the campgrounds.

Are there powered sites?

Yes, ALL campsites at Mountain Sounds 2018 will have access to power facilities. The cost of this is included in the camping ticket.

How much space do we get for our campsite?

It’s big enough for your tent and some outdoor space but you will be close to your neighbours. Please do not go over the top with your camping setup as space is at a premium. Overly elaborate campsites are discouraged, so you will be asked to downsize if you arrive with enough gear to re-create your lounge room.

Can I bring an RV or campervan?

Yes. If you are bringing a vehicle or caravan to sleep in, you MUST pre-purchase an RV Parking pass to do so. You will not be allowed to park and sleep in the campers car park, there will be a designated area for RV’s and campervans.

Can I bring my tent into the RV area?

There are no tents allowed in the RV area. The RV area is only for vehicles designed to be slept in such as campervans, or towed devices such as caravans. No sedans or motorbikes are allowed in this area also.

If I’m staying in an RV or campervan, am I able to access the main campground?

Yes, you will have access to the main campground and facilities if you are staying in an RV. However, patrons not staying in an RV are NOT permitted in the RV area.

If I don’t have an RV or campervan, am I allowed to just sleep in my car?

No, patrons are only permitted to sleep in certified RV’s and campervans, not regular sedans, utes etc.

Am I allowed to bring a portable stove or oven into the campground?

No, we have a strict no fire policy at Mount Penang Parklands. Snacks are permitted and there will be plenty of food stalls available.

Is Wow Tent hire per person and per night?

No, Wow Tent hire is per tent and for the weekend.

Can I park next to my tent?

No. In the interests of a better camping experience and help to manage space better, there will be no cars in the campground which creates a friendly camping culture.

Is it safe to leave valuable items in my tent?

No. Although there will be staff and security walking through the campsite, we cannot guarantee that they will be safe. However, we will have a cloakroom available for your belongings. 

Are there going to be showers and toilets available in the camping area?

Yes, there will be plenty of warm showers and portaloos available.

Will there be security in the camping area?

Yes. There will be a roving security presence in the camping area for the duration of the festival.

Can I bring my own generator?

Yes, you can bring your own generator but we have a noise curfew from midnight so your generator must be turned off from then.

Can I bring dry-ice to the festival?

No, dry ice will be permitted into the campsite. This is for safety reasons as dry ice can be dangerous when handled incorrectly.

Can I bring alcohol into the campsite?

No. No external alcohol will be allowed into the campsite or festival grounds. The campsite will remain an alcohol-free zone for the duration of the festival.

Can I bring food and water into the campsite?

Yes, snacks are permitted but stove/gas cookers are NOT permitted.

Can we have a fire at our campsite?

Patrons are not permitted to have campfires or fires of any kind at Mount Penang Parklands. If you light a fire you will be removed from the site and may be subject to police action.

Is there access from the campground back to my car?

No, there will be no access from the campground to cars once the festival is underway.

Can I leave the campsite to purchase supplies at any time?

No. Once you have entered the festival site camping pass-outs will not be permitted. Any last minute essentials you have forgotten will be available for purchase at the General Store.

How far is the campground from the car park?

The campground is located next to the carpark.



What plans will you have in place during the event if I want to call regarding noise, traffic, litter or patron behaviour?

We will have a hotline that will be advertised via our letterbox drop throughout the surrounding residential area. Initiatives include:

  • An acoustic management plan will be conducted prior to and on the day of the event in order to limit the sound projection.
  • Our traffic management plan (approved by the local RMS) will limit the amount of issues prior to and on the day of the event
  • Event cleaning contractors will be employed to effectively limit and clear all litter prior to, on the day and post event

Will the music go all night?

Definitely not. There is a sound curfew in place so all music will cease by midnight each night.

Can I get a free ticket because I live so close to the venue?

We appreciate and respect surrounding residents so we offer a two-for-one ticket deal, which you will receive via the letterbox drop. However, this is subject to whether the festival sells out early so to minimise risk, purchase your tickets early.
